The Smiles Program is a very special way that VARIG Group find to thank you for your preference. It is the largest Mileage Program in Latin America, with over 5.6 million participants and more than 100 partners.

Free subscription: simply complete the registration form available in stores, airports, onboard our aircraft, along with our partners, the Central Smiles.

The Smiles participant earn miles when flying VARIG Group airlines and Star Alliance partner airlines. Some flights, however, may have restrictions on mileage credit due to internal policy of the companies. To make sure that the flight you are using is valid for mileage credit, see the Helpline Smiles. And also to use the products and services of program partners, including credit cards, hotels, car rentals, restaurants and others.

SMILES BLUE CARD
When enrolled in the Smiles Program, members are entitled to these benefits:

• Accrue Smiles Miles every time they fly¹ with VARIG and also when acquiring products and services of Smiles non air partners.

• Redeem accrued miles for Smiles Awards: Smiles Tickets, One Way Smiles Ticket in Brazil, Any Day Smiles Tickets and One Way Smiles Upgrade.

• Flown miles and segments flown with VARIG are considered in the upgrading of Smiles Cards to the Silver, Gold and Diamond Cards levels.

• Priority in confirming flights for tickets purchased at published fares².

SMILES SILVER CARD
When accruing 20,000 flown miles or 25 flown segments within a 12 consecutive month period (current month excepted), the member conquer the Smiles Silver Card, which entitles him/her to the following privileges:


• 25% Bonus miles over the mileage flown with VARIG.

• A 5,000 Mile, one-time bonus, credited after reaching the Silver level, and an additional 3,000 Smiles Mile bonus upon each renewal.

• 10 kg of excess baggage allowance valid for flights towards countries where the WEIGHT CONCEPT applies ¹.

• Priority on the waiting list at the airport1 .

SMILES GOLD CARD

When accruing 50,000 flown miles or 60 flown segments within a 12 consecutive month period (current month excepted), the member conquer the Smiles Gold Card, which entitles him/her to the following privileges:


• 50% Bonus miles over the mileage flown with VARIG.

• A 7,500 Mile, one-time bonus, credited after reaching the Gold level, and an additional 5,000 Smiles Mile bonus upon each renewal.

• 20 kg of excess baggage allowance, or one extra volume free of charge, in countries where the piece concept applies¹.

• Differentiated attendance at check-in ¹ and access to VIP Lounge Smiles regardless of class where you're flying

• Exclusive Service Center

SMILES DIAMOND CARD
When accruing 100,000 flown miles or 100 flown segments within a 12 consecutive month period (current month excepted), the member conquer the Smiles Diamond Card, which entitles him/her to the following privileges:


• 100% Bonus miles over the mileage flown with VARIG.

• A 10,000 Mile, one-time bonus, credited after reaching the Diamond level, and an additional 7,000 Smiles Mile bonus upon each renewal.

• 20 kg of excess baggage allowance, or one extra volume free of charge, in countries where the piece concept applies¹.
• Differentiated attendance at check-in ¹ and access to VIP ROOM SMILES regardless of class where you're flying.

• Exemption from payment of the Urgency Service Fee for issuance of Smiles Awards.

• Guaranteed boarding, for tickets purchased at published fares, if reservations are made within 24 hours prior of departure time, without the guarantee of class or seat selection¹.

• Smiles Tickets

There are round trip tickets to any destination served by VARIG and air partners. They must always have confirmed dates of departure and return, and are valid for one year from the original date of issuance. The Smiles Tickets issued for the airlines partners, are subject to blackout periods. Read more.


• Any Day Smiles Tickets

This award requires a higher amount of miles. It is indicated to be used during high seasons, when there are no longer available seats for Smiles Tickets (which are subject to seat availability). Only available on VARIG flights. Read more.



• One Way Smiles Upgrade

This award allows the member to fly in the next superior class of service of the paid ticket. For instance: the member buys an Economy class ticket and uses his/her miles to travel in Business class. The One Way Smiles Upgrades can only be used in conjunction with a paid ticket, according to the Awards Table and it is only available for departure or return on VARIG flights. Read more.

Those are tickets issued for one way only on flights operated by VARIG originating and bound for a location in Brazil.
