It was the only model and was
specially built by Aeronáutica d'Itália for Bruno Mussolini, Benito
Mussolini´s (the Italian "duce") son.
At VARIG it received the name of “Jacuí”, a homage to the river from
Rio Grande do Sul state. However, due to its Italian extraction, it
was more widely known among the people as "Spaghetti".
In addition to Fiat G2, VARIG also received, in 1942, the Italian origin aircraft Cant Z.1012, registered as PP-VAO. Only seven aircraft were built around the world. But the aircraft never came into operation for scheduled flights. During a training flight, the aircraft has crashed and could not be recovered. The trimotor Cant Z.1012 was capable of carrying 6 passengers, had a maximum takeoff weight of 2,250 kg and cruising speed of 280 km/h.
