BRAZIL AIRPASS GENERAL RULES
Advertising and Sales: Only 1 Air Pass may be sold in conjunction with
an international Round-trip/Circle-trip or Open Jaw trip with a domestic
surface break only.
Agents discount: Agents or Tour conductor discounts are not permitted.
Application: One way / round trip / circle trip / open jaw travel with
VARIG. Period of Application: ALL YEAR ROUND.
Baggage Allowance: For domestic sectors flown in connection with an
international routing, the free baggage allowance will be that permitted
for the international routing, providing the passenger is in possession
of a ticket for the through-routing. Excess baggage charges for purely
domestic transportation will be assessed on the basis of 1pct of the
lowest normal direct adult one way economy class fare.
Children/ Infant Fares: Children= CH – 100 pct of the applicable adult
fare.
Infant= IN – 10 pct of the applicable adult fare.
Combinations: Combinations/ Constructions are not permitted.
Eligibility:Available only to foreigners and Brazilians residing abroad
holding specific international scheduled tickets to Brazil. Agent/Industry
discounts/Inaugural guest and Introductory fare tickets do not qualify
for a BAP / Arrival on Award ticket do qualify.
Maximum stay: 21 days – including date of departure.
Payment: Only outside Brazil. PTA’s not permitted.
Rebooking/ Rerouting: Voluntary Rebooking/ Rerouting – Any Time = Charge
USD30. Voluntary Rerouting subject to paragraph above is only permitted
in case flight coupons are available for alteration. I.E., Rerouting is
not permitted against passenger coupon/ ticket cover only.
Reservations: Must be booked in advanced for whole itinerary / no open
coupon
Refunds for cancellations: Before Departure/ No show: Refund the fare
paid less USD30. After Departure: If partially used the BAP is not
refundable.
Routing: Number of connections permitted as per comparison chart:
Maximum ground time is no more than 8 hours between flights
The two coupons forming such a connection will be counted as one coupon.
Same sector may not be flown more than once in the same direction.
Travel is not permitted on the RIO/SAO (SDU/CGH) air shuttle.
Stopovers: As provided for in Routing paragraph for each Air Pass.
Stopovers are limited to the number of coupons purchased. Each flight
segment uses one coupon.
Restrictions: Only one Air Pass can be sold per International ticket.
Mercosur Airpass
Economy class travel within Brazil, Argentina, Chile (except Easter
Island), Paraguay & Uruguay.
Travel on: VARIG / PLUNA / LAP / LANCHILE/ VASP / TAM /
MERCOSUR AIRPASS GENERAL RULES
Eligibility: Available to holders of an international round trip ticket
for travel from outside South America to points in BR, AR, CL, PY and UY.
VARIG will only issue a MAP providing that the passenger travels into S.
America on VARIG and the routing contains at least one VARIG flight.
Maximum stay: 30 days.
Minimum stay: 7 days – counting as from the day after departure on the
first sector.
Rebooking:Permitted.
Refunds: Before Departure: Full Refund.
After Departure: Refund difference between paid and full economy class
fare.
Rerouting: Not permitted once ticket is issued.
Reservation/ Payment/ Ticketing:Must be completed at the same time. The
MAP must contain a cross reference to the first international ticket
number.
Routing: May originate at any point in the area. The itinerary must
include at least two countries.
Stopovers: Maximum of two per country plus: (1) Point of origin: (2)
Point of final destination in the Mercosur.
Maximum 8 flight coupons (or 9 if including IGR/ IGU – surface
transportation).
Maximum 4 coupons per country (or 5 if incl. IGR/ IGU).
Rerouting: Not permitted once ticket is issued.
Validity: All Year. Except blackout period: 17 DEC to 10 JAN.
Taxes: A Security Surcharge of USD12.00 per ticket will be added, plus
airport departure taxes.
CHILDREN/INFANT FARE: Children= CH - 67 pct of the applicable adult fare.
Infant= IN - 10 pct of the applicable adult fare.
Restrictions: Only one MAP can be sold per International round trip
ticket. Must be issued by VARIG or by the National carrier of the
country where travel commences.
