The history of Abaeté begins in 1979, when the pilot Jorge Mello founded
Aerotáxi Abaeté. The company began its activities with a single-engine
Piper Arrow 200, registered PT-DSM, transporting passengers and cargo.
In 1985 purchased Atlanta Táxi Aéreo.
In 1995 taking advantage of the fact that Nordeste (from the Varig group)
stopped flying to some cities in the interior of Bahia state, Abaeté
launched Abaeté Linhas Aéreas (regular regional airline). The company
began flying to destinations that Nordeste no longer covered with a
fleet of EMB-110 aircraft, with capacity for 14 passengers.
In 2001 Abaeté served Bom Jesus da Lapa, Caravelas, Texeira de Freitas
and Guanambi, all from Salvador. In 2002 the company stopped serving
Caravelas.
In 2006 the company expanded its fleet to three EMB-110s and expanded
its network to Barreiras and Brasília. However, in 2008 the company
retreated and started flying only from Salvador to Bom Jesus da Lapa and
Guanambí, with just two EMB-110s.
In February 2012 Abaeté Linhas Aéreas ceased operations. However, the
air taxi company remained operating.
In December 2021 Abaeté Linhas Aéreas returned, operating passenger
flights, this time from Salvador to Península de Maraú and Morro de São
Paulo, with a fleet of Cessna Caravans, for 9 passengers.
In August 2022 Abaeté and Gol announced a code-share for routes in the

Passaredo
Transportes Aéreos was born in July 1995, as
part of Passaredo Group, with experience in
road transport through Viação Passaredo.
Operations began with two EMB-120s.
In 1997, with a pool of tour operators, the
company brought one Airbus A310-300 to
Brazil, being the first Brazilian airline to
operate with this aircraft, soon followed by
a second example to operate on charter
flights to the Brazil's Northeast region and
the Caribbean. The company also received
three ATR-42-300s, with the intention to
replace its EMB-120. But with the
devaluation of Real against Dollar in 1999,
the company returned almost all aircraft,
leaving only two EMB-120. Without money, the
company stopped flying on April 4, 2002.
In March 2004 the company returned, a very
rare case in Brazilian aviation. With just
one EMB-120, the company served Goiânia,
Chapecó, Curitiba, Uberlândia and Ribeirão
Preto. From then on, the company gradually
grew until it had six EMB-120s in its fleet.
In 2008 Passaredo announced its first jets,
two Embraer ERJ-145. To mark this moment the
company launched a new visual identity.
In 2009 opened new routes to Rio de Janeiro,
São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Palmas, Bauru,
Marília, Barreiras, Presidente Prudente,
Goiânia and Recife. With jets, the company
more than doubled the number of available
seats and consolidated itself as the second
largest regional airline in Brazil.
In 2010 the company received one ERJ-135 to
accelerate fleet renewal.
In February 2011 Passaredo finally retired
the last three EMB-120s, but stopped flying
to Marília, Bauru and Presidente Prudente,
claiming that the ERJ-145s were too large
for the demand on these routes.
In 2012 the company entered into judicial
recovery. According to the company, the rise
in fuel prices and competition were the main
factors. Passaredo then decided to renew the
fleet with ATR-72-600 aircraft and retire
all ERJ-145s. In addition to the ATR-72-600,
the company also acquired ATR-72-500. Even
so, the fleet decreased from 15 to 6
aircraft, also reducing the company's
network.
In 2013 the company received more three ATRs
and expanded the number of cities served,
but the company remained much smaller than
it was a few years ago.
In January 2015 began code-share with Tam,
which increased the aircraft occupancy.
In January 2017 the company also started
code-share with Gol. However, the company
continued to experience financial
difficulties and the operational fleet
remained reduced to five ATR-72-500.
In February 2019 launched its new visual
identity, changing its name to "voePass".
In August 2019 Passaredo surprised the
market by announcing the purchase of Map
Linhas Aéreas, a regional company based in
Amazonas.
In October 2019 VoePass returned to operate
an ATR-72-600, increasing the fleet to six
aircraft.
In April 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic
profoundly affected the company, which
suspended all flights for a few months.
Flights resumed in July.
In June 2021 VoePass announced the sale of
Map to Gol. The agreement involved the
transfer of Map slots in Congonhas to Gol,
while Passaredo retained the entire fleet of
ATR aircraft.

Total Aerotáxi Ltda was founded in May 1988
as an air taxi company and also operated in
the transport of postal bags for EBCT (Brazilian
Post and Telegraph Company).
In 1994 Sulista group, one of the largest
road transport organizations in the country,
bought the company. A restructuring process
was then initiated with the aim of making
the company capable of operating in the
regular transport segment. In 1996 the DAC
authorized Total to operate as a regular
regional company. The company began
operating with two EMB-110s and adopted the
name Total Linhas Aéreas. In a short time
the fleet increased to nine aircraft: seven
EMB-110, one EMB-120 and one ATR-42-300.
Months later, it began flying on the
"Regional Air Bridge" (agreement between
Taba, Interbrasil and Total) connecting
Santos Dumont and Pampulha airport. But in
2000 the Pool was disbanded.
In 2001 it received two Boeing 727-200s for
cargo transport. Total also used its idle
aircraft on charters and was chosen by
Petrobrás for various charters flights in
the Amazon region.
In 2002 began flying on lines in the
northern region of the country, with a fleet
of five ATR-42-300s and three Boeing 727-200
freighter.
In August 2004 iniciated code-share
agreement with Tam.
In 2005 the company reached its peak. It was
the first Brazilian airline to operate ATR-42-500
and ATR-72-200, it was the largest ATR
operator in Brazil and also the largest
regional airline by fleet.
At the end of 2007 the part responsable for
regular regional passengers flights was sold
to Trip, forming the largest regional
company in South America. However, Total
brand continued to operate in the cargo and
charter sector under the name Total Cargo.
